Snakes, snakes and more snakes

I ventured into the forests around the Myall Lakes National Park today to shoot the Myall Stages rally organised by the NDDC. An interesting collection of cars kicked up the dirt on some very fast flowing roads. That talented young bloke Nathan Quinn in his Mitsubishi EVO won the event. In fact EVO's filled the top 3 places.

One of the strangest things I've seen in a long time was on stage 2 when a pair of red Commodores came past noise to tail. V8 racing in the bush no less! Apparently there were words said by the driver of the second one as he could not find a way past the slower car and ended up with a pair of busted headlights.

The only down side was all the reptiles slithering around. There were snakes, snakes and more snakes everywhere. I had a very close call with one red bellied black snake that scared the living daylights out of me!
